Las Huertas, Cuzco Peru

I met some very nice people in Cuzco, Peru.  I was asked to attend a village celebration in the hills outside of Cuzco. The village was celebrating the culmination of a long project which brought running water to the district. It was spearheaded by a group of German nuns, who spent a long time gathering the resources and people power to bring water to a place where previously it had to be carried. It was a joyous occasion, complete with a pot luck meal, lots of chicha beer, a bit of rum, some dancing, and lots of smiles. This photo was taken as we walked to the village.
