Salar de Uyuni Hex Land–Bolivian Altiplano
The Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt flat in the world, located in southern Bolivia. It’s about 100 miles (150km) from side to side, and is absolutely amazing. Sitting on the Altiplano, it’s actually a crust of salt over a brine lake, containing a large amount of the world’s lithium deposits. Bubbling hot springs, active volcanoes, and other-worldly scenery, everywhere you look. I did a three-day Land Cruiser trip, and plan to go back again next year. Look for more Salar posts later.
